I took Paxton out last week for some Valentine-style pictures, and I'm so glad I did. I think the best part about the whole thing was the picture that my hubby took of me and Pax. I've been wanting a picture with him for so long, but since I'm always the one taking the pictures it doesn't usually happen. This time it did though. I set the settings and then handed the camera over to the hubby who was more than happy to snap a few images :)

2010 was my first official year in business, and it couldn't have been better. I met some great new people and hope they will be clients forever :) I feel like I've grown dramatically with my style and I cannot wait to see what will come in 2011. I already have some great-fun-ideas in store, but now I'm just waiting for the weather to cooperate!

I also want to welcome all my new followers...thanks for finding me. And because every post is so much more fun with pictures, here is a small re-cap of what I saw through my lens in 2010.

Isn't this little man so adorable? I think he gets it from his momma :) I met Katie, her dad, and little {E} for a session up at Squilchuck Park. It was a little cold, but that didn't stop us.

When I showed up for this WINTER session and Pauline was dressed in a little black dress I knew it was going to be a great session. Any couple who is willing to brave the cold is steller in my eyes :)

Pauline and Jedidiah have been married for two and a half years, but they don't have any actual engagement or wedding pictures so this session was definitely a personal one. When I asked how they met Jedidiah told me (long story short) a friend tried getting them to meet up, when that didn't work Pauline called Jedidiah, told him she'd be singing at an event and he should come listen, Jedidiah went and listened to Pauline sing and said, "he fell in love." What a great story.

This session took place at their house out in the middle of an orchard. It was perfect.

Do you remember THIS post? Well this adorable little girl is that baby...the anticipation is over and her mommy and daddy are in LOVE. I met up with sweet baby {J} when she was only 10 days old. This was technically my first baby session and I LOVED everything about it. Little ones change so fast so getting pictures of them when they are itty-bitty is so important.

I don't know if there is anything more adorable than chubby cheeks, except maybe chubby arms and this little man has both. I had a great time taking little {M's} pictures, he was such a good sport. He hardly cried and only had one accident...which is pretty good considering he was diaper-less for half the session.

If this family looks familiar it's because they've appeared on the blog before. We met up last July for some family pictures and then again last weekend. I couldn't believe how much the girls had changed since the last time we met up. The littlest one was talking way more and the older one didn't seem quite as shy. Mom and Dad even snuck in for some pictures which the girls liked because that meant extra warmth :) I think anything below 60 degrees is almost too cold for pictures...you try to look warm and act warm but it's impossible to keep your face from turning red and your nose from running.

I met up witht his lovely family on what would probably be considered the first "real" day of Winter. I think when we met up it was only 50 degrees....way too cold! They all did great though...the little guy was a little reluctant to smile, but the older two were great! Kimi I think we should definitely meet up in the Spring when it's a little warmer :)

I met up with this adorable family Saturday for their family session. It was freezing out and we even had a few flakes all, but that didn't stop little {D} from having a great time. He was ready to crawl and roam the grounds. We did take one break, but considering the temperatures I think one break was pretty good.

..yes they do exist, they've just never been on my blog before. Unitl now...
The girls, however, have appeared many times, like HERE or HERE. I cannot believe how much they've changed since our last session. They are a little taller, and have less teeth, but they also have way more personality. They are turning into such independent individuals...I cannot believe that on Monday they celebrated their 8th birthday. Where has all the time gone? Happy Birthday Luvies!

Welcome Fall...this was my first official Fall session of the year and I LOVED it. I LOVE everything about Fall. This family was a lot of fun and sweet little {M} was so adorable. She kept wandering around telling us stories about everything that was going on. She LOVED the trees and playing in the leaves and i LOVED taking her picture. She was such a good girl.
I'm also doing my sessions a little different (if time permits) at the end of the session you'll be able to view your images and choose the ones you want edited :) That way I spend all my time on the images you LOVE, and not the ones you don't. :)

Why is CUSTOM photography expensive?
::Custom photography is CUSTOM to you and your family. I put in a lot of time, thought, and effort to make your session everything you want and more.

::For every hour that I'm taking your pictures, I'm putting in additional hours uploading the images, transferring the images, saving them, backing them up, editing them, and making them unique to you.

::I also run a legitimate business and with that comes additional fees...Taxes.

::With custom photography you are getting so much more than just a picture, you are getting a family heirloom that will always hold it's value.

Not all photographers are equal either. Having a nice camera doesn't make you a photographer. It takes a lot of work, practice, and knowledge.

Meet Susy...a senior at Eastmont high school. Susy is a very ambitious girl who has goals and dreams that I admire. I only met with her for an hour and a half, but in that short time I realized that Susy is going to move on to do amazing things. She has hopes, dreams, and goals of going on to Eastern Washington University and majoring in Pre-Med. She then plans to finish Med-School in Guadalajara, Mexico. WAY cool! This girl also has moves-kickboxing moves!

A few weeks back I was a second shooter for a beautiful wedding at Amy's Manor in Pateros, WA. The details were amazing and the weather was perfect.

I was there assisting Jessica Feely who is an awesome wedding photographer. Her work is simply amazing. She is based out of the Seattle area, but does a lot of destination weddings too. I loved watching her work. She has a huge personality and is a brilliant photographer. You'll definitely want to check out her work. You can also find her on Facebook. My main responsibility was details...which was fine with me. I was able to watch Jessica work but also work at my own pace too. I also snagged some great images too. Last week I met up with this senior and her momma. We had to brave some usual Wenatchee winds, but we were able to make it work and got some great shots. Brianna knew exactly where she wanted to take her pictures, which I loved. We met up at the park in Wenatchee then drove out to the middle of a field where this barrel had been spray-painted with the word LIVE.

Brianna is an active member in a Gear Up program and is on her way to have her entire first year of tuition paid for. That's awesome...Brianna good luck in your senior year.

I received an email from this couple back in June about setting up a session for engagement photos. We decided that we'd wait until August since I would be on a break from school and they would have some vacation time coming. I cannot believe that was over two months ago...
This beautiful couple is from Ellensburg so I tried to come up with a spot that would be pretty central (ish) for the both of us so we met on Bluette Pass. The signs that were along the road couldn't have been more perfect for an engagement session. We had some GREAT laughs (see below) and even encountered a true-out-back-jack that lived in a TePee and had a three legged dog. Very interesting!
Anthony and Cynthia thank you for meeting me and allowing me to take your engagement photos. You're a great couple. I hope they are everything thing you hoped for!

Meet Alex...he's going to be a senior at East Wenatchee high school. He also drives a pretty sweet car, a car I definitely wished I had in high school. I'll admit, I'm a little jealous.

I met up with Alex last week for his senior session. He did great. He knew exactly what he wanted, where he wanted it, and what he didn't want. Which was AWESOME :) This was my first male senior and I wasn't exactly sure how it would go...but it went swell. At one point I asked him to sit on the ground for a shot and he kindly told me, "yeah, I don't really want to." Fair-enough :)

The spot he took me to was at a house that his grandparents built and if I heard correctly his grandpa even built the bridge that is in one of the pictures. Pretty cool!

Alex, good luck in your senior year. I hope the pictures turned out as you invisioned :)

A few months ago I received an email from this (see below) beautiful brides sister asking if I would be interested in photographing a wedding...I wasn't. But then I thought about it (A LOT) and decided what-the-heck...I might like it, shoot, I might even be good. And well, it was another challenge that I was looking forward to. I was terrified though. What if I missed all the most important shots, what if I didn't have the right settings on my camera, what if...what if...what if... Those were all possibilities and I'm so happy to say that I didn't encounter any of them. I think it actually went really well. It was hot, but it's the middle of summer. I'll take the heat over wind any day.

So I'd like to announce that Andrea Lopez {PHOTOGRAPHY} will now offer wedding sessions. Thank you Lauren and Robby for allowing me to be part of your special-beautiful-day. Angle thank you for contacting me and making me push myself to say yes.

Little Hayden is definitely in the attached-to-mommy stage (or daddy for that matter.) She'd only let go for a minute before she'd realize and start looking for mommy or daddy. After many attempts I was finally able to meet up with the Ovenell's. This session has been a work in progress for the last month, but we finally made it happen. I'm so glad we did. These two girls were so cute. Little {J} was so calm and easy going, but little {B} made me work for EVERY picture. That little one can run...and she figured out all my moves in the first few minutes. There was no fooling her. I joked around with Brandon an Tina that I'd be probably be sore the next day, and boy was I. I was actually sore for the next two days, it sounds pathetic I know. But I work had during my sessions ;)

Meet Breanna.. She's a going to be a Senior at East Wenatchee High School. She's a great person with a bright future. She's a member of a scholarship program and already has enough money to pay for at least a year or two of school at a community college. If I only knew the things now when I were younger...

She's also our go-to babysitter when we need someone to watch Pax for a few hours. She's great with him, which makes it a little easier for us to go out.

I couldn't decide which edit I liked better. The first one is the original and the next two are different editing actions I used. I loved all of them so I figured I'd save them all :) I love the subtle changes to her skin tone.

aka...Miss Ava. Isn't she adorable? I'd like to think so, but I am a little biased since she is my niece. Her momma and her came over for a short visit on Tuesday so we figured we'd let her go out and play in the middle of a street in the middle of the country :) Hey, anything for some great light!

Although when Paxton saw these pictures he told me, "mommy, Ava's in the street...she better move or she'll get run over by a car and have to see the doctor." AWESOME...

If you are a loyal blog fan you'll definitely recognize these two. They have been on this blog a few times and are also frequent flyer's on my personal blog. I'm amazed everyday at how fast they are growing up and how different they have become. There's one thing will never change though, their bond. In all of the pictures I've ever taken of them they are always drawn to each other, you can see it in the way they always reach for each others hands without even realizing it. I love these girls!

I just finished the first part of Rachel's senior pictures and should really be in bed, but I couldn't wait to upload a sneak peak...

Can you believe this is only the first part? I still have another memory card to sort through. We're also going to plan another time to take some more since we ran into a little bit of a "technical" problem and couldn't get to her other clothes :)

First off-- Thanks for the great experience, I learned so much during this shoot.

I'll admit though, this was definitely my biggest challenge so far. I never realized the difficulties of group photography. I'm glad that I was able to learn these things with great people...Love you guys!

Photography Blog

I decided to make a photography blog, I plan to use this page to post pictures that I've taken for other people. This way I can keep these pictures separate from my personal pictures...still check out my 365 project though.

I hope you'll enjoy the pictures. I also hope that you'll be able to see the amount of work I've put in and am putting in to learn the in's-and-out's of photography. I never knew there was so much to learn, especially now that I'm doing everything in Manual (I choose all the settings.)
